Frequently Asked Questions

You can find more detailed answers on this site. Basically, we take a physical deck of cards and place it in our patented automated system which checks the deck is complete, scrambles, shuffles, digitizes the order of cards, encrypts the result, delivers the encrypted deck as soon as is called for by an online game. At that point (if Real Deal Poker software is used), the player who has the dealer button is asked to cut the deck by placing a cursor (or finger on a mobile device) at the point where the cut is required. Cards are then dealt as per a live poker game, including burning the cards before; flop, turn and river.
We know that a great number of people do not trust computer random number generators, but (until Real Deal technology) RNG was the only way to provide a deck to an online game. However, it is impossible to audit RNG, this is why every State/National lottery uses real ping pong balls to provide the draw numbers, you can see the balls, count them, watch them being chosen in order and understand it. To quote Derek Webb, President of Prime Table Games, "a deck of cards is the true Random Card Generator". By using physical decks of cards we are able to provide to each game a unique deck that is one of the 80 duovigintillion combinations of a 52 card deck with the knowledge that statisitically we will probably never duplicate a deck. What more could you expect from a card game?
Poker Stars deals approximately 640 games per second. We have no limitations of scale on providing any number of unique decks needed for online games.
The automated system ensures that the decks are complete, then washed (similar to how a dealer 'washes' the deck prior to shuffling), shuffled, then digitized. All decks are held on a secure server, accessible only to 2 authorized RDP personnel and only with CEO approval. Once a game is ready to start, a deck is chosen, encrypted and delivered. It is impossible for anyone to 'see' a deck before it is dealt. Furthermore, the deck is cut by the player prior to being dealt and cards are 'burnt' during the deal, as in live poker.
Absolutely not. First of all, you would never get a video tape from an rng string and that tape is key to the overall ability to guarantee an audit process that actually has some meaning and functionality behind it. Our patented process was reviewed and revised numerous times over a 5 year period to evolve into what it is today. The majority of players do not really comprehend the effort and thought that went into this entire process and the careful crafting of these systems driven by the need for transparency and integrity.

Absolutely, our decks can be audited unlike any other online card game with RNG in the World today! Because we are using real cards. We are putting an audit system in place whereby any player can audit any deck dealt. We are so confident of our systems that we will pay 1,000 times the cost of the audit (paid to the person requesting the audit) if a deck is proven to have been duplicated.
We wanted to be as close to live poker as possible. However, the cut has another purpose and that is to stop computer 'bots'.
We have operated and can operate our own stand alone platform. You can try the 'free to play' software here. The technology can replace any poker room RNG (random number generator) and we are in talks with poker providers to do just this. There are several modifications we have in mind and would like to make significant changes to the exisiting platform. These things of course take time and planning. We are also looking to provide real cards to online providers of; rummy, video poker, baccarat etc.
Real Deal launched a poker room in 2010 and whilst we had over 50,000 active players within the first few months, we faced a number of 'hurdles'. Our founder Gene Gioia chose to ensure all player funds were returned and closed the room. We now understand the industry better and would not face the same 'hurdles' if we opened again. Over the next few months we will make the decision as to whether we operate poker ourselves or provide the cards to online poker operators (and other games). We now have an experienced team working on the software updates as well as our business options. We are currently seeking investor partners who can contact us through this site.
We evaluate our systems daily and are always monitoring their preformance, results, etc. and continually strive to perfect the systems for the benefit of the player experience. Real cards are instruments that can provide a truly random deck. We can provide as quickley as any RNG so why not use realk cards? it really is that simple and we need to get the message across to the players.
Yes, absolutely, Real Deal can replace your RNG for any online card game. There are other options too; we can offer a white label poker solution, partnership and collaboration with existing and new product. Our R&D department is looking to partner with a slot machine provider to bricks and mortar casinos as we belive a video poker machine with real cards would be welcomed by slot players.
It is much easier for players and potential partners/investors to see what we can do with a live demo. We appreciate your feedback where constructive. At the moment the site is in demo, graphics and design is really just the wallpaper. It is the concept that we want to prove to the players and the gaming industry.
